Build Muscle and Lose Fat with Eccentric Training!!!
Fitness trainer Brett Klika of Fitness Quest 10 shows Sean some simple exercises for eccentric training. Research shows you need 40 seconds time under control to stimulate the muscle to grow. In order to focus on the eccentric portions of presses and pushups, it helps to time your workout.
We are designed to breathe through our belly, not our chest so Brett shows Sean how to crocodile breathe, which is in through the nose and out through the mouth while laying face down on the floor. You can enhance your grip by consciously activating the grip and clamping down. It's also important to control the lower portion of the lift, which is the eccentric portion.
With pushups, you can activate the eccentric potion by gripping the ground while lowering your body. Keep your abs tight and tighten the gluts. Your hands should feel like they are trying to turn a doorknob in the ground.
