A small team from Germany traveled to Tajikistan in February/March 2017 in order to create a current state analysis in a small village called Veshab. The local economy in the Zerafshon region needs to be improved to ensure a sustainable food supply for the inhabitants. We met the bee-keepers themselves, but also co-workers, re-sellers, suppliers, clients and consumers of the products (honey, jam, dried fruits) coming from Veshab. We found several spots in the supply chain that need to be improved. Which part is going to be worked on first is also decided by the inhabitants themselves. We try to keep the contact as close as possible to find solutions hand in hand with the local people. This is the philosophy of "Esteem Startup" in Tajikistan.
