In this episode Paul Buitink and Luis Espinosa Goded have a conversation with renowned Professor Steve Hanke, economist at Johns Hopkins University and Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute, about the advantages and disadvantages of not having your own sovereign currency as a country. Specifically they talk about the use of the US dollar in Ecuador and whether it's tenable and/or desirable. In Ecuador Luis has started a campaign to preserve the US dollar that is possibly under threat by a new digital payment system launched by the country's central bank.
