Crochet a Plarn or Cotton Tote Bag

This is a little different from my other tutorials. Instead of crocheting along, I simply tell you how I made the bag. You can do the same steps and make a bag the size you want.

In this video I used plarn from bread bags, potato bags, paper plate packaging toilet paper and paper towel packaging and the bags the snack sized potato chips come in. This is a little thicker than the typical grocery store plarn.

I cut the strips about a half inch wide.
I used a J crochet hook.

If you prefer you can use a worsted weight or heavier cotton instead of plarn. Use a hook size to make a firm fabric.
