SUPER SESSION CHAIR: David Posner, President, EnVent Energy LLC
With the startup of the new Ruby Pipeline, Rockies natural gas has unprecedented market access to export capacity and markets to both the east and west. The Annual Gas Pipeline Panel will discuss potential improvements to the Rockies pipeline infrastructure that could further enhance Rocky Mountain market flexibility and value and support future regional supply growth. Supply competition from eastern shale gas plays and its implications for Rocky Mountain gas pipeline flows and utilization will also be considered. Strong natural gas liquid prices compared to natural gas continue to stimulate investment in NGL oriented production projects and challenge the capacity of the Rockies NGL infrastructure. The Midstream Panel will examine projects underway to expand NGL takeaway capacity and other midstream facility needs. As shale production technology leads to growth in Rocky Mountain oil production, the need for new outlets becomes evident. The Oil Pipeline Panel will examine the current Rocky Mountain oil infrastructure, needs for expansion, and how increased Rocky Mountain oil production will get absorbed in the market.
