Passing through Santiago, Chile, I discovered a market that illustrated perfectly why this country is a haven for seafood lovers. Mercado Central de Santiago is one part tourist attraction, but another important part which is a source of fresh fish and seafood for thousands of local residents. Nobel prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda once wrote an ode to fish chowder, which after visiting this country, doesn't seem surprising at all.
