I am teaching a vacation English class in Ocotepeque, Honduras. For this activity, the students listen to a song several times and read the lyrics I provide. We then read the lyrics all together (choral reading) and then they each speak a line or two. The next day, they listen to the song again and again and arrange the words I have written on the cards (one or two words per card) until they have the words to the song in the right order. Then we sing the song while they check the words they have arranged to make sure they have arranged them correctly. Often, while they do other activities, I replay the songs they have learned from weeks earlier and they still can sing along.
