Alongside the Technology Advisory Group’s launch of Scotland’s Data Opportunity Action Plan, many of the leading figures in data science were in attendance to hear John Swinney, MSP, our Chairman, Neil Logan, and other keynote speakers expand on the exciting opportunities at hand for Scotland’s private and public sectors.
Collaboration, innovation and economic advantage were the main topics of the day, with the prize at stake being anything up to £20 billion of financial benefit for Scotland by 2020. With world leading academic institutions, government support and participation by leading indigenous companies and international corporations alike, the upshot is that our relatively small nation is well placed to make big waves in Big Data.
