His tattoo reads "1 Cor 6:19". That's the first book of Corinthians in the Christian Bible, chapter 6, verse 19. Let's read it, kids! "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?" So, this verse is literally an admonishment to take good care of your body. One of the few verses in the Bible that concerns itself with taking care of your body, in fact, since it is "holy". This is some next level irony right here. Enough devotion to tattoo a bible passage, but not quite enough to actually follow it. Kudos to you, sir.

The salt causes the ice to lower its freezing temperature, and in the process absorbs heat from the environment (including a participant's hand) as it melts. As a result, skin temperature drops far more than with ice alone, even though the temperature of the ice is the same. This can quickly cause second and third-degree injuries similar to frostbite. Due to the numbing sensation of the cold and possible nerve damage during the stunt, participants are often unaware of the extent of any injuries sustained during the challenge. Skin discoloration from the challenge may remain after the challenge has been attempted

it's the part between the ice and the salt that is actually colder

Did this when I was much younger on the top of my hand. The skin froze. It was very weird. Thankfully, no permanent damage after it thawed.

my son has a huge scar from this idiotic challenge he got frostbite on his wrist... it's almost as stupid as setting yourself on fire with alcohol.
Luc Akbal
No it's actually the same kind of stupidity. But more dangerous since frostbite don't cause pain right away
