Hi, I'm Judd. I'm one of the developers of spacewar. Spacewar is a realtime multiplayer space physics game where you shoot stuff.

You can shoot other players to blow them up, or shoot planets to gather minerals. You can spend those minerals in the hangar upgrading your ship's equipment, such as your firing speed on your weapon, your engine thruster speed, or the durability of your ship.

Node lends itself really well to realtime multiplayer games because we can use the same javascript to model the game world on both the client and the server, and use WebSockets to keep them in sync.

The controls to our game are really simple-- just use the arrow keys to fly and the spacebar to shoot.

Players and projectiles are both affected by gravity from planets, which allows for some pretty interesting tactics.

You can shoot your gun around a planet, you'll notice the projectiles are affected by gravity, so you could create a debris field to keep other players away, or you could fly close to a large planet to slingshot and game some speed.

While developing Spacewar, we were repeatedly distracted by the urge to perform cool maneuvers between planets, and we sincerely hope that you find Spacewar as addictive as we do.
