There was so much more to Horowitz as an artist than his fabulous 'wow' transcriptions and interlocking chromatic octaves that, unfortunately, many young (mostly male) pianists think is the epitome of great piano playing. To me, they only prove that Horowitz was an amazing virtuoso and a great transcriber. But he was more than a mere virtuoso, and that is why he is justly considered to be a great pianist. Here he plays Scarlatti's Sonata in A Major K 322
