Special Olympics New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Being involved with Special Olympics New Zealand provides them with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. More than 7000 athletes compete in 200+ events around the country each year supported by more than 40 Clubs and a large network of volunteers. We hope you enjoy our promotional video - thank you to Attitude Pictures for their production and our athletes and volunteers for sharing their experiences.
