Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival, this past October 10, 2009 saw over one thousand people savoring fresh seafood from local purveyors, restaurants and fisherman. The Endless Summer Bar & Cafe featured a rich, butter lobster bisque. Chef John Pollock from Chuck's Waterfront Grill did cooking demonstrations, local Hope Ranch oysters were sold on the half shell and local mussels were steamed and served by the bowl. Sea urchin (uni) was sold as shooters, on a rice roll or with salad. Live spiny lobster was sold at $16 per pound and then could be steamed (for an additional $3) and then sliced in half and served with melted butter. A number of local luminaries (shown in this video) were present including mayoral candidate, Helene Schneider as well as SantaBarbara.com's John Dickson.
Each year the Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival happens on the second Saturday in October. For more information visit www.harborfestival.org It is a most delicious event.
