This is a short video showing how I made the droning synth bass sound for one of the songs on my upcoming album. It's a sample of a PVC-based membrane pipe (see my other videos for a description) which is duplicated, looped, and tuned via changing each clips' playback rate. That's analogous to changing the speed of a tape deck. (In other words, I'm not using pitch shifting.) The result of all of this is then fed into two free plugins, BetaBugs' MonstaChorus, and Ohm Force's Frohmage. I'm very pleased with the final result, all with free plugins, some PVC plumbing, and a balloon.
