Men and boys are victims of sexual abuse and violence committed by both male and female perpetrators. One in six boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. Sexual abuse and violence is a human rights issue not a gender issue. Until we accept this, male victims of sexual abuse and violence will continue to be treated in a manner that is both unfair and unjust.

Ken is a born and bred Cantabrian (New Zealand). He has been working with the Male Survivors of Sexual Assault Trust (MSSAT) since 1996. MSSAT is the only group of its kind in New Zealand dedicated to working with and supporting male survivors from a peer support model.
