A needful sermon by Dr. Max D. Younce concerning worldliness and the sin of homosexuality. You can obtain doctrinally sound Christian books and more information at http://www.heritagebbc.com
In Genesis 13:12 Lot pitched (faced) the door of his tent toward Sodom. One chapter later in Genesis 14:12 Lot dwelt in Sodom. Lot's heart was in Sodom before he ever moved there! Lot compromised his Christian testimony in order to become friends with the wicked inhabitants of Sodom. James 4:4 warns that to become a friend of the sinful world is to also become God's enemy.
Lot would not stand for God against the evil lifestyle of Sodom (Just like America today and same-sex marriage). Every Bible-believing Christian should take a stand for God. We should not bash gays, nor deliberately be unkind. We should unconditionally love them with God's love. Albeit, we should never back-down from the Biblical position that homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes. Romans 1:18-32 reveals what God thinks of the perverted homosexual and lesbian "life style." God calls it "sin."
Without 2nd Peter 2:7-9, we would never know Lot was a righteous (saved) man. 1st Corinthians 6:9-11 reveals that homosexuals can be saved; BUT, he expects them to cease their perversions; not to be saved; but, as a testimony. "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." God is a forgiving God Who loves all of humanity.
Lot went to Sodom a wealthy man; but he ended up poor in a cave, having lost his wife, his two sons-in-law and his two married daughters. That 5 deaths in Lot's family! Then because of the ALCOHOL which Lot brought out of Sodom, he ended up committing incest with his two virgin daughters, fathering his own two grandchildren. How messed up is that? Oh, how sin steals, kills and destroys! The Devil is a beautiful liar ladies and gentlemen.
All this evil happened because Lot moved to a wicked place! We can all learn many lessons from the life of Lot. Sin will destroy our life if we let it.
