Since the desert heat reached an awesome 98 degrees yesterday, and today was a 100+ mile day, everyones decided to start riding out before sunrise. This is our Nevada plan. They woke up around 4:30 a.m. to break down their tents and eat some breakfast before taking off at roughly 5:30a.m. They started their ride in the pitch dark, escorted by a 42 below support van. The moon was enormous on the horizon, bright gold in the middle of absolute darkness. And then the sunrise started subtly and before you knew it you were looking around, nothing around you but just beautiful sky. If you have never seen a sunrise in the desert, were so thankful for sunrises. We crossed over into Nevada today the last frontier before California. The riders are sun soaked and tired, but looking forward to the next day. They are pressing on out here in this vast expanse.
