Mike Newberry is an Early County peanut grower and says he favors an increase in the assessment fee farmers invest in the research, education, and promotion projects conducted by the Georgia Peanut Commission. He says research advancements in cultivars, yields, pest and disease resistance are reasons enough to help fund more projects and "we, as growers, need to take a positive view of that."
