"Preparing Portland Schools" is a short documentary film about the earthquake safety retrofit of Alameda Elementary School in Northeast Portland written, directed, and produced by Alex, Harrison and Noah from the Hollywood Studio @ Grant High School during the summer of 2013. The film explores the risk posed to Portland schools by a major Cascadia earthquake and the steps that can be taken to make old buildings safer.

Support from the nonprofit Cascadia Region Earthquake Workgroup (CREW), FEMA and the Hollywood Theatre made this project possible.

Hollywood Theatre Education Programs are made possible with the support of Grant High School, Open Meadow High School, da Vinci Middle School, Sabin SUN School, the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Laika. Special thanks to all the creative minds involved in these programs.

A project of the Hollywood Theatre Education Programs, Portland, Oregon.
