FGCU Theatre Lab and local non-profit, Footsteps to the Future, dedicated to empowering women who are in and "aging out" of foster care, have collaborated to bring "Suit My Heart," an original, ensemble-created performance, to FGCU's Black Box Theatre, April 6-17, 2011.

"Suit My Heart" is the second in the Performance Constellation series of civically engaged theatre works created collaboratively under the direction of Dr. Michelle Hayford, Assistant Professor of Theatre at FGCU. The play was developed over an eight-month period wherein FGCU theatre students interviewed the mentors, mentees and volunteers of Footsteps to the Future, and then transcribed those interviews as the basis of the script. The play utilizes many performance mediums including dance, song, music, film, ensemble scenes, and duet scenes.
