Here I am breaking the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to type a text message using a touchscreen device. The official record is currently held by Melissa Thompson of the UK and was set using Swype with a time 25.94 seconds. Using the ASETNIOP digital keyboard on an iPad 2, I managed a time of 23.0 seconds. Unlike Swype, I didn't program shortcuts for "razor-toothed," "Serrasalmus," and "Pygocentrus" into the dictionary ahead of time, and the autocorrect feature was disabled during the attempt.

The message consists of 160 characters typed in 23 seconds, which corresponds to a speed of 417 characters per minute (cpm) and 83 words per minute (wpm).
