Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I had so much fun writing it. I was kind of cracking up while I was playing it. I figure it's not any worse than anything out there, and sometimes, you just gotta go with what you create. I thought I was being pretty original with the title, but there is a group called "Bad Mother Folkers." But since there were no songs with that topic or title, and titles aren't copyrighted, I went with it. It's based on a true experience on Youtube, although I embellished the story a bit to make it more interesting for the song. I had posted a video response to one of Eminem's songs, and a commenter told me to get off the Eminem channel. Oddly enough, I got a big kick out of that, and I had to write a song about it. I think Eminem's a great creative force from what little I've heard of him. So this song is about what I think his response would be as well. I may not agree with all his views that I've heard in the media, but I respect anyone's craft.
Bad Mother Folker
I went to the Eminem channel To post a video response Someone left a comment That said 'Old lady, get the hell off."
We don't like folk music here We only like people who rap So get rid of that acoustic And shut your big 'ole trap
Oh yes, I have a different style But I don't think Eminem would mind 'Coz I'm a bad mother folker I'm a bad mother folker I'm a bad mother folker That's just who I am I like Dylan and Pete Seeger Woody Guthrie and more I'm a bad mother folker to the core
Haven't listened to much Eminem It's true I went there for the views But what little I've heard from him Well, I think he's got some pretty good tunes
And I'm guessing Eminem Would welcome anyone on his stage 'Coz we're all creative folks Don't matter what music we play
