One of my favorite video game videos from the past, "Twas the Night Before Quakemas" a Quake II Christmas special that plays off of the famous poem "Twas the Night before Christmas" but adds that special holiday Quake spice that we all love!
This original demo was not created by me, it was created by "Clan Drooling Chickens" back in December of 1998. I was searching for this video this year just to watch and I didn't find it, so I thought it was a good idea to record it myself and throw it up on youtube for everyone to enjoy!
I still remember first seeing the news post for this video (Which you can still see by going here: http://www.bluesnews.com/archives/dec... and scrolling down to the news for December 23rd).
I was still playing Quake II multiplayer constantly and it was Christmas break from school. I was just patrolling the internet for some game news and came across the posting for this demo. I don't know that I had ever run a demo before in Quake II, but luckily this already came with a .bat file so I was good to go!
I loaded it and I was amazed! This was one of the first times I had seen anything acted out in a game engine and recorded before so I really was blown away.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed revisiting it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
NOTE: This is the complete original video, nothing has been changed or edited except the audio has been ran through a few filters to try and remove the hiss throughout.
If you want your own copy of the complete original demo with no audio changes, you can still grab it here:
