Our conversation with Megan Kate Nelson (Visiting Assistant Professor of History, Brown University) and Kevin Levin (Instructor, Gann Academy) on their most recent project-- co-editing a special issue of Common-Place entitled "The Civil War at 150: Memory and Meaning." In this interview, Megan and Kevin discuss the process behind editing such a project and the various risks and rewards inherent in such a venture. In addition, Megan and Kevin offer their thoughts on the state of Civil War Memory as a field and how this issue will further the debate.
