Edmontonians contributed hundreds of ideas to help us embrace winter including: river valley warming huts, free skate and ski rentals, outdoor patios with fire pits and heaters, and snow clearing techniques to makes walking and biking easier.

The result was "For the Love of Winter: Strategy for Transforming Edmonton into a World-Leading Winter City", developed by Edmontonians, for Edmontonians, and endorsed by Edmonton City Council. The next step is developing the WinterCity Implementation Plan, which will be done jointly by the City of Edmonton and a volunteer Advisory Council.
