Septuagenarian BJP leader L.K. Advani has changed his tune and endorsed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate. At a rally in Chattisgarh, he hailed the Gujarat government's feat of bringing 24-hour power supply to all villages in the State. If the faith reposed in Mr. Modi "fructifies," the senior BJP leader said, good governance provided by BJP governments could be replicated across the country. This raises several questions. Has Mr. Advani found it difficult to continue with his resistance once the other Modi naysayers deserted ranks? Or is he left completely isolated? Had the veteran no choice but to assent to the Gujarat Chief Minister's candidature? Or the party trouble shooters promised him a better package if Modi wins 2014 general elections? Or has he set his eyes on Raisina Hills? Questions a live News and Views debate -- Kabi Kushi Kabhi Gam, moderated by Doordarshan National Correspondent,V. Ramakanth. Panelists : Paladugu Venkat Rao, Sr.Congress Leader; N. Indrasena Reddy, BJP Sr. Leader; R. Sudha Bhasker,CPM Party Leader and Gen-Sec, CITU and E.Peddi Reddy, Vice- President, TDP.
