I LOVE just about everything about little beach towns - the eateries, the boutiques, walking around and a lot of doing nothing! What I don't love is the traffic and the chaos. Laguna Beach is the perfect little getaway town to do all these things I love and The Ranch at Laguna Beach is the best way to do it without any traffic. It's nestled in at the southern end of Laguna Beach and feels like your worlds away. If you want to spend the day at the beach, they'll outfit you with towels, beach chairs and an umbrella and then golf cart you right to the pedestrian access bridge. If heading "into town" (hey, it's only 3 - 4 miles long so everything's sort of in town), catch the trolley which picks you up right at The Ranch (no charge) or have they call you an Uber (also no charge!). The Ranch was the perfect base location for easy access to everything. Plus, loving that it's a Nat Geo Unique Lodge of the World -- bucket list lodging goals to see all of these someday!
I was in town to catch the famed Festival of the Arts and Pageant of the Masters so I included a few tips if you're planning on attending those as well, starting with - definitely don't roll in 30 minutes before the show starts! Half the fun is the entertainment BEFORE the show so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy that.
