Event organized by the Columbia Chapter of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. Primary speaker is Erin Mateson of National Organization for Women, followed by Michele Stranger Hunter, Executive Director of NARAL- Pro-Choice Oregon.
At the beginning of her presentation, Erin lays down the theme of the event with two principles, regarding both religious and workplace discrimination:
1) There is no freedom of religion when a woman is not free to act according to her own conscience;
2) There is no freedom in the marketplace when an employer or an educator is able to select which legal protections against discrimination will apply to a woman.
