Texas State Senator Wendy Davis started a filibuster on Tuesday in an attempt to stop a vote on the controversial legislation known as SB 5. The bill was proposing restricting access to abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and would have closed a majority of clinics that offer that procedure.
