Violent clashes broke out between two groups inside the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar on the 30th anniversary of the army's operation Bluestar. At least seven people were injured in the clashes between radical Sikh activists and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) task force volunteers.

The SGPC manages the Golden temple, the holiest of Sikh shrines.
As per reports, the clashes broke out when activists of the Amritsar unit of Shiromani Akali Dal were prevented by SGPC task force from brandishing swords and traditional weapons inside the Harmandir Sahib complex.
