In this unique demo round, coaches and students team up to debate the June 2013 Public Forum Topic. This round is meant to be an example for students to better understand the technical side of debate. The debaters focus on the issues as if they were in front of a "flow judge," one who prioritizes the weighing of arguments, extensions, impacts, etc. in their decision making process over the presentation aspect of the round. Doug Miller, coach of Ransom Everglades High School in Miami, FL, and Abraham Fraifeld, coach of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD, affirm against Megan West, coach of Cypress Bay High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Grant S., Champion of the 2013 NFL National Tournament, who negated.

This round was hosted by the Champion Briefs Institute. All of the participants were instructors at the 2013 Institute in South Florida. This was just one small part of our curriculum; students attended 25+ lectures, participated in drills and activities, and watched many demo debate rounds similar to this one. The experience allowed our students to greatly advance their debate skills and we look forward to the 2014 Champion Briefs Institute, which will have sessions in both South Florida and in California.
