Horsehair pottery, raku firing

This video shows what I call the hair dance during horsehair raku firing. The very hot pot(over 1000 degrees) is carefully removed from the raku kiln and horse mane or tail hair is applied. The hair instantly burns leaving it's image on the surface of the pot. A great way to memorialize your horse.
