KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers are investigating a homicide after the victim was discovered inside an Oakland Drive home Saturday morning.

Authorities with Kalamazoo DPS are still at a house in the 2400 block of Oakland Drive investigating how the resident, 74-year-old Robert Medema, died at the scene.

A call came in around 8:45 a.m. Saturday from someone who found Medema dead in his house. Investigators taped off an area around a house, looked for clues.

As the investigation continues, officers are releasing few details. They won't say how Medema died, who found his body or if there were signs of forced entry at the house.

Authorities say that is all information important to the investigation and they don't want to jeopardize it by releasing too much information.
