When people ask why I'm running for President of the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC), I tell them I'm running because Alabama needs an energy advocate who will put the good of the state and its people ahead of personal, political ambitions.

Like most Alabamians, I am disgusted by the gridlock in politics and by politicians who seek one political office as a stepping stone to another political office. Sadly, as in this race, this has become the norm instead of the exception. That leaves Alabamians holding the bag, because no one is doing the work.

I have had a solid, 30-year business career and believe, in today's climate, it is critical that elected officials work for the people of Alabama to improve lives, restore jobs and keep Alabama's businesses viable.

The majority of Alabamians are independent thinkers. Today more than ever before, Alabamians are selecting the best qualified person to do the job. I am qualified for this office with both the experience and education.

It's a matter of getting out in front of people, talking to them, listening to their concerns and addressing real issues confronting Alabama. That is what Alabamians want, and that is what I do.

Most importantly, Alabamians will not have to be concerned about whether or not the instant they elect me I will start running for another political office.

President of the Public Service Commission is the only political office I intend to seek - so you can rest assured that, when you elect me to the office, my total focus will be on doing the job.
