Here's a special clip of Shiloweni our leopard being fed. Shiloweni came to Daktari in 2010 after being removed from the Sabie Sand area where he was roaming too close to people. Whilst being transported to a new location on the Karongwe game reserve he broke his canine teeth on the bars of the cage and they had to be removed. Sadly this meant he would not be able to defend himself against dominant males or other predators. The only option was to put him down or find him a home in captivity. Although his first few days in an enclosure were stressful, he has now settled into his new life at Daktari where he helps to teach and inspire children from local communities about wildlife and conservation.
