We drove about 30 minutes out to DeKalb. And found Sciples Mill, down in the holl'r and we attended the Water Mill Opry. There is an old, water powered, working grist mill that has been the family for 220 years. On Saturday nights people gather from miles around to hear an opening prayer, some gospel music and finally good ole time country favorites. It's in a falling down old grocery store which is filled with dusty "memorabilia" and antique church pews. Price of admission is $5 or a "covered dish". No alcohol. The band is a bunch of old white coots playing guitar, keyboard and drums. It was fabulous!
