A presentation by Jim Motavalli Editor of E Magazine.

There has never been a better time for environmentalists to become vegetarians. Evidence of the environmental impacts of a meat-based diet is piling up at the same time its health effects are becoming better known. Find out how meat consumption has created an environmental disaster with wide and sometimes catastrophic consequences. Jim Motavalli is the Editor of the Norwalk, Connecticut-based E/Environmental Magazine, the only independent national environmental bi-monthly. He has written two widely reprinted cover stories for E documenting meat${q}s environmental impact.

In addition, Mr. Motavalli writes environmentally themed pieces for the New York Times "Automobiles" and "Escapes" sections, and produces a weekly environmental column which appears in The Philadelphia Review and five other papers. He is the "Conservation Works" columnist for AMC Outdoors, the "Autos and the Environment" columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and writes "Green Living" for the Environmental Defense newsletter. His writing on population won a 1999 Global Media Award
