A time lapse of a full day of work for a software development team doing Mob Programming. Mob Programming is very similar to Pair Programming, but the whole team works together on the same thing, at the same time, at the same computer.
We work like this every day, 5 days a week.
We have graduated from high quality projectors to 80 inch 4K monitors. The team is self organizing and consists of the right people for the work being done. Processes are improved through frequent retrospectives, which is how we arrived at six team Mob Programming.
You are watching Test Driven Development, Whole Team, On-Site Customer, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, Small Releases, Coding Standards, Sitting Together, Energized Work, User Stories, Continuous Improvement, Continuous Delivery, Resharpening the Saw, and Sustainable Pace at work on a real team doing real work for a real company.
This technique has been pioneered by Woody Zuill, Dexter Baga, Chris Lucian, Aaron Griffith - and the rest of the dev team - at Hunter Industries. The team has grown significantly since those days. We now have a much larger and more diverse team. We are now experimenting with the effects on scaling Mob Programming.
