Samsung 840 SSD in a ThinkPad X61

As before, but this time in a slightly more powerful machine. I've installed a modified BIOS that enables SATA II (the X61 is otherwise limited to SATA I, for some reason). Crystal Disc Mark gives me sequential reads of 251mb/s.

Note that they boot at almost the same rate - my hand is slower to launch Firefox with the HDD - but the SDD-equipped machine felt less stuttery. In this context the SDD is almost overkill, and doesn't get a chance to really show off.. No doubt with a tonne of background services, Norton etc, the SDD's greater performance would be more apparent.
