Holocaust Survivors from Paris describe their arrest by French policemen and subsequent imprisonment in the Winter Stadium - Velodrome d'Hiver (Vel d'Hiv) in Paris in July 1942. 13,000 Jews were detained at the Vel d'Hiv prior to being deported to concentration camps and death camps. During the Holocaust, about a quarter of the 330,000 Jews of France were deported to death camps in Eastern Europe. About 3% of the deportees survived.
