This is a 12V SSTC using a PNP TIP42c. It lights a CFL like other slayers, but when you use a ferrite core magic happens and the LED bulb is illuminated. Each bulb rated draw is 2.5W, but this configuration has no inverter and lights four in series. It outshines other coils, by concentrating the energy in the core, and harvesting the energy with a third coil. Improvements are: no ground or counterpoise, only one ultra high speed diode, and bifiler collector. As you can see amp draw is actually less when a load is drawn against the resonance. Unloaded the amp draw was up to 670ma. The CFL will draw as little as 240ma, and the core when inserted draws no more than 450ma, and remains unchanged despite illuminating 4 bulbs.
