"SL Hitoyoshi" is the name of JR Kyushu's sightseeing train from Kumamoto to Hitoyoshi consisting of a steam locomotive and three immaculately restored cars. The cars have been reimagined by designer Mitooka Eiji with a great nostalgic yet family-friendly design theme. As you can see, the train crew is very nice and cheerful as well! If you haven't been there yet, Hitoyoshi is a beautiful rural town (300,000 population I believe) South of Kumamoto alongside the Kuma River. This steam train journey is on my 'must do' list for my next visit to Japan.
