The Luddites 200 Organising Forum (L2OF) gave a workshop at the Manchester & Salford Anarchist Bookfair, on 3rd December 2011. At the end of the workshop, they amended the timeline of the labour movement that is displayed on the wall in the lobby, which up until now has not featured the Luddites at all. The group handed a letter in to the Director of the Museum, asking her to permanently amend the timeline and also to ensure that the exhibitions feature the Luddites. Lastly, the L2OF requested that commemorations of the Luddites be planned for next year, which they would be happy to support. In this video, Dave King of the L2OF explains the relevance of the Luddites, and Ian Brooke of Huddersfield Anarchist League explains why the Luddites have been whitewashed from history.
