Ah, summertime. Many of us fill these sunny days with activities like hiking, biking, boating, camping or just lying on the beach.

Before you head out, be sure to take along a few key summer supplies:

• Repellent or long sleeves to thwart the bugs.
• Antihistamine and cream to treat stings and bites.
• Sunscreen and hat to prevent burns.
• Aloe vera to soothe burns.
• First aid kit to fix up skinned knees and sprains.

Speaking of first aid kits, now is the perfect time to refresh your kit. Replace outdated items and make sure you have all of the essentials—before you need them.

It’s also a good idea to add the number and address for the nearest urgent care clinic or doctor’s office to the contacts on your phone. It will save you precious time in case you or a loved one needs care for non-life-threatening injuries. For serious situations, call 9-1-1.

You can find a PeaceHealth doctor’s office or urgent care clinic near you at www.peacehealth.org.

Have a fun—and safe—summer.
