Aaron Makaruk is the Director of Development for Open Source Ecology, a social enterprise building the Global Village Construction Set: an open source platform of 50 industrial machines it takes to build a small civilization with modern comforts. Open Source Ecology is accelerating the growth of the Open Source Economy: one that optimizes both production and distribution while promoting environmental regeneration and social justice. In this talk, Aaron explains the brilliant future of a manufacturing which is open, personal, and respectful of nature. A true hope for humanity. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
