With two weeks down and only one more to go, Morry and Matt are refining their skills at truck driving school and preparing themselves for the state CDL skills test to earn their Class A CDL. Since the last time we spoke with them, they've had a huge change in confidence behind the wheel of a semi. Matt is no longer scared of the wide turns, and Morry tells us he's happily parallel parking the truck without trouble. The guys have spent two weeks behind the wheel practicing driving forward, several types of backing, docking and parking, and driving on local roads and interstates. They've studied in groups and worked closely with instructors to refine areas they felt needed a little more work. In two weeks, they've gone from never having been behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer to being able to safely and comfortably operate one. Now they're going over their pre-trip inspections and four point brake checks, and focusing on the final goal: passing the CDL skills test and getting their Class A CDL.
Can Matt and Morry pass the CDL skills test? Will they be able to focus and apply all the knowledge from the last three weeks of truck driving school? They're scheduled to test at the state CDL skills test site. Watch part 4 to see if they can bring it all together and earn the CDL.
