Virginia Zeani sings Amina in the finale of La Sonnambula. Amina has sleepwalked across a bridge over a mill wheel and thus convinced the villagers and her fiancee that she is innocent of any misconduct. She wakes up to general rejoicing and one of serious opera's rare happy endings

This is a live performance from 1958. Zeani can be heard making an false early entry as the cabaletta begins but quickly recovers, demonstrating the hazards of live performance when the singer can often not even hear the accompanying orchestra! The recorded quality leaves much to be desired but the performance is full of vivacity.
