Jim Kwik founder of the Kwik System stops by UW Radio shares tips on speed reading. Effective reading is reading speed and reading comprehension. Subvocalization is the inner voice inside reading along with you. Jim teaches a whole brain reading method to overcome subvocalization, you are not just reading the words, you are feeling them.
Start by training your brain to recognize words by sight. Jim has very specific speed drills for how to do this training, including how to hold the book. As you do the training, you naturally start to create shortcuts and the only words you are subvocalizing are the ones that are not familiar.
