A look at the 2009 season of the class 1A state champion Yuma Indians.

Yuma faces the "big" part of the season. After a convincing win over Holyoke, Yuma faces archrival Wray in the first "Harvest Cup" game, then onto a showdown with the three-time defending 1A champions, Akron Rams. Yuma snaps Akron's 46-game winning streak and clears the way to win their first North Central championship in almost thirty years. After that epic struggle, the Indians blow past Highland to close the season and demolish Crowley County in the first round of the playoffs.
