Hanging gardens (balconies) by Mariele Neudecker

Art within the new Cancer Centre at Guy's Hospital will be used to transform spaces and help people find their way around the building.

This video features one of the artists, Mariele Neudecker, talking about her work.

Mariele works across a wide range of media: sculpture, installation, film, sound and photography. The exterior of the new Cancer Centre is just as important as the interior and so we will be working with Mariele to integrate work within the balcony and outdoor spaces. Mariele's explorations of the epic and romantic in landscape and her lightness of touch and humour really struck the panel during the interview process, as did her powerful image-making that is both understated and hugely impactful.
